GLASGOW, Ky. – The T.J. Community Mission Foundation has launched a new initiative to bring moments of joy to critically or terminally ill patients in the region, granting its first-ever “Dreamcatcher” recipient an all-inclusive trip to Dollywood.
Tiffany Wilson of Edmonton, who is currently undergoing treatment for colon cancer that has spread to her liver, had her lifelong dream of visiting the Dolly Parton-themed park come true.
Tiffany, who has dealt with seizures since she was a baby and was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, has always loved Dolly Parton’s music and spirit.
“She loved every minute of it, from Dollywood to the Stampede dinner show,” said Darlene Cox, Tiffany’s mother.
The all-expenses-paid trip, covered entirely by the new program, included a two-day pass to the park, accommodations at Dollywood’s Dream More Resort & Spa, and tickets to two dinner shows.
“This has just been awesome, and I’ve had a great time!” Tiffany shared.
The Dreamcatcher Program was envisioned by Drs. Bharat and Bharati Mody to provide meaningful experiences for families in southcentral Kentucky during challenging times.
“I cannot imagine a more deserving young lady to be our first Dreamcatcher recipient than Tiffany,” said Randy Burns, Executive Director of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation. “Seeing her joy in the Smoky Mountains was a blessing.”
The T.J. Community Mission Foundation administers the program, with applications reviewed quarterly. Dreams can include travel, special experiences, or other opportunities designed to provide comfort to patients and their families.
