Bank of Edmonson County celebrated its 100 years of Service on Oct. 13, 2025. Many elected officials came out from Edmonson County, Warren County and KY State to help bank employees and residents celebrate the occasion.

The Bank of Edmonson County began in 1925 when 5 founders invested $15,000 to bring banking to Edmonson County. Oct. 6, 1925, the Bank of Edmonson County opened. In 1971 the present bank was built. The Bank of Edmonson County is now a $200 million enterprise.

A heart-felt video was shared about the beginning of the bank and the founders. As the video played the story of the Bank, you could see many people’s pride in having been a part of the bank’s story.

During the video Scotty Woodcock spoke about his days at the bank and those he served with. Scotty said the Alexander, Houchin and Woodcock families worked together and always came to an agreement over issues. Tommy Houchin explained how the bank had not been established very long before the Great Depression hit the country, and how scary that must have been.

Jeanne Alexander Patton became the first woman President of the bank in 1988. Michelle Coleman joined the Bank in 2008 as Financial Officer and later became the CEO. Michelle said the employees are the heartbeat of the bank.  The Bank of Edmonson County expanded into Warren County, first in the Warren East area then in 2014 at Smiths Grove.  Michelle Alex and Michael are the 4th generation to work and run the bank.

“The fact those families are still gathering around the board table, the same way they did 100 years ago, it’s just incredible.” Michelle Coleman Bank of Edmonson County, CEO.
