Last Wednesday, the Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce held the first ribbon cutting of 2024 at Honeysuckle Consignment and More located at 1101 West Stockton Street in Edmonton.

Melissa Simpson opened the store just a year ago and business was so plentiful that she had to move the store to a larger building after just a few months of business. The ribbon cutting celebrates her one-year anniversary and the new location.

Customers were greeted and assisted by two of Melissa’s friends Carolyn Kirby and Amber Westmoreland and her family members packed sack lunches of grilled hotdogs, chips, and a drink for customers to enjoy.

Not only is “Honeysuckle” a consignment store with lots of clothes for the family from babies to adults, but it also has home décor, furniture, and gift items such as candles and jewelry.

WHSX 99.1 FM radio station did a remote set-up in the store with Bobby Edwards and David Froggett broadcasting live from the ribbon cutting.

A large crowd gathered for the ribbon cutting and Melissa had refreshments and lots of door prizes in the form of Easter eggs laying throughout the store with a prize inside. You could also sign-up in hopes of being the one lucky winner of a $50 shopping spree.

At the end of the day, Melissa’s grandson, Grayson drew the winners. Debbie Holley won a nice Easter door hanger and someone who only listed his name as Mike won the $50 shopping spree.

Honeysuckle Consignment and More is open M – F from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., or call during store hours at 270-308-6587.
