Adolphus Rapp “A.R.” Taylor, Jr.

 

GLASGOW – Adolphus Rapp “A.R.” Taylor, Jr., 78, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 4, 1946, in Barren County, Kentucky to the late Adolphus Rapp Taylor, Sr. and Clara Lucille Roberts, who survives. A.R. was an Orderly for many hospitals in the surrounding counties and was a Taxi Driver in his later years. He was in the National Guard and of the Baptist faith. A.R. loved scratching lottery tickets, watching wrestling, and sitting on the front porch drinking his coffee. He never met a stranger and if he did, they weren’t strangers for long. A.R. had a personality no one can forget and he will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nellie “Nell” Houchens Taylor of Glasgow; one daughter, Kimberly Taylor of Glasgow; two sons, Darren Taylor (Donna) of Glasgow and Brian Lee Taylor of Indiana; one granddaughter, Brittany Peterson (Eian) of Edmonton; one grandson, Chase Bailey of Edmonton; one great-granddaughter, Mylah Peterson; one sister, Clara Ann Roberts of Lebanon, Tennessee; two sisters-in-law, Emma Harvey and Rose Christie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earl and Leona Rutledge; paternal grandparents, Perry and Sally Taylor; stepfather, Caldy Roberts; and one brother, Caldy Earl Roberts.

The funeral service for Mr. Taylor will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Neal’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. Please share your condolences with the family at www.afcrowfh.com.
