Coming off their impressive 16th district run, the Hornets will match up against Glasgow (10-16) in the first round of the 4th region tournament at 7:30 PM CST Wednesday night. The 15th district champion Scotties will also be coming off an impressive district-run, having defeated Warren East (19-11) and Barren County (20-12) to secure their trip to Diddle.

Metcalfe and Glasgow met in Edmonton just two weeks near the end of their regular season play. Led by the duo of Cade Button with 25 points and Hudson Jessie with 25 points and 11 boards, the Hornets defeated the Scotties 74-70.

Awaiting the winner of the Metcalfe County and Glasgow game will be the winner of the 13th district, Logan County (16-15) and the runner up of the 14th, Warren Central (14-11). On the top side of the bracket, 16th district champions, Cumberland County (17-13) will play the 15th district runner-up, Barren County, while 4th region favorite and 14th district champion, Bowling Green, takes on the 13th runner-up, Russellville.

As always, the Hornets will depend heavily on Cade and Hudson as they look to make a regional tournament run. However, for the postseason to be a success story, they will need big games from the trio of Hornets who have shown the ability to knock down big game shots, Maddux Garrett, Kruz Tucker, and Ben Shirley. Metcalfe will also need defensive stops from Cabot Boling, Collin Shive, and Colton Huffman. Just as importantly, the boys will feed off the Hornet fans that they trust to flood Diddle Arena with Maroon Wednesday night.
