The Lady Hornets (19-12) will travel to E.A. Diddle Arena on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green Monday night for a 7:30 PM first-round region tournament matchup against the 14th district runner-up, South Warren Lady Spartans (13-16).

The Lady Hornets squared off against the Lady Spartans just three weeks ago at Metcalfe County High School. Anna Grace Blythe and Jozie Allen both finished with 16 points as the Lady Hornets defeated South Warren 59-49.

On the same side of the bracket, awaiting the winner of Metcalfe and South Warren will be the winner of Warren East (26-4) and Todd County Central (17-12). While the Lady Hornets didn’t match up against Todd this year, they began their season at Warren East, in a season-opening battle that was back and forth the whole way through. The Lady Raiders finished narrow victors, 64-58, but Metcalfe had four Lady Hornets finish in double figures, Anna Grace Blythe (16), Kassady London (13), Aubrey Glass (13), and Jozie Allen (12).

The 4th region goliaths inhabit the opposite side of the region bracket, Franklin Simpson (29-1) vs Allen County Scottsville (12-17) and Bowling Green (20-10) vs Russell County (18-11). However, March is upon us, and with it, the madness of seeing goliaths slain. Cinderella may find the shoe fits and the stroke of the clock in her favor.

Survive and advance, the postseason mantra that March brings will be the gospel in which Metcalfe hopes to facilitate their first 4th region championship in program history.
