Harrison Dee “KY” Satterly

GLASGOW – Harrison Dee “KY” Satterly, 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born August 21, 1932, in Anderson County, Kentucky, the son of the late Orthey Edgar and Vila Faye (Corn) Satterly.

Harrison began his electrical career in Indiana and in 1967 he was employed at the Glasgow Electric Plant Board rising to management level as operations superintendent. After retirement he enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was a beloved member of First Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and in the bus ministry which brought him great joy and fulfillment. He was a kind and gentle man whose faith guided him and whose love was embedded in his love of Jesus. His family is grateful recipients of his love and loyalty.

Including his parents, Harrison was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty J. Satterly; daughter, Jennifer K. Jones; siblings, Beulah Mae Satterly Cook (Bloomfield, KY), James Truman Satterly (Scottsburg, IN) Wesley Gilbert Satterly (Louisville, KY), and Marcella Faye Satterly Hood (Bloomfield, KY); and nephew, Blane E. Cook) (Lawrenceburg, KY).

Harrison is survived by his nine children, Jeffrey Satterly, Winchester, Virginia; Vila Kay (Ken) Daniel, Paducah, Kentucky; Tammy Satterly, Paducah Kentucky; Donna Satterly, Caro, Michigan; Donald (Sherry) Jones Glasgow, Kentucky; Charlie Jones (Vickie); Michael Satterly, Horse Cave, Kentucky; Melissa (Tim) Perkins, Summer Shade, Kentucky; and Hellen (Keith) Sherfey, Glasgow, Kentucky; twenty grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses, and doctors at T. J. Samson Community Hospital and Shanti Niketan Hispice Home for their thoughtful care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Niketan Hospice Home, 1020 Glenview Drive, Glasgow, Kentucky 42141 or First Free Will Baptist Church, 656 Pritchardsville Road, Glasgow, Kentucky 42141.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm Sunday and after 8:00 a.m. Monday until time for services at the funeral home.
