Emma Jean Carter

GLASGOW – Emma Jean Carter, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at her residence. She was born October 31, 1932, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky to the late Merritt Harlan and late Dorthy Mary (Jones) Harlan.

Survivors include her loving sons, Roger Carter of Glasgow and Larry Carter (Karen) of Park City; her daughter-in-law, Renee Carter of Sturgis, Kentucky; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly seventy-five years, Julius Carter; her son, David Carter; her grandson, Clinton Carter Cook; great-grandson, Aiden McGee; two brothers, Hugh and Richard Harlan; and one sister, Wilma Williams.

Mrs. Carter’s family has honored her wishes of cremation. There will be a celebration of life ceremony at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2024, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
