Mary Lynn Dickinson

GLASGOW – Mary Lynn Dickinson, 81, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Barren Health & Rehab Center. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late William and Lavece Carr Ganter Dickinson.

Mary Lynn had many talents including being a professional baker and an accomplished musician. After learning to play the mandolin, she taught herself to play guitar and was a member of the Squeaky Clean Jug Band. One of her well known accomplishments was being the baker who made the beloved “Angel Biscuits” at Bolton’s Landing in Glasgow. She was a devoted bird watcher and a life long member of the First Christian Church where she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir. In later years after retirement, she devoted her life to caring for her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Monica Lynn Schultz (Frank) of Glasgow and Mary Hannah Austin (David) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Wes Buchanan, Forrest Buchanan, Lavece Buchanan, James Buchanan, Heather Polin (Kyle), Susan Reece, Rebecca White (Quentel Bradley), and Alexander Austin; two sisters, Georgia Lew Peterson (Butch), and Katie Jo Napier (Bobby); one sister-in-law, Suetta Dickinson; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Susan Buchanan; one great-granddaughter, Natalie Alicia Buchanan; one sister, Elizabeth Brents “Betsy” Carsner; and one brother, Bartlett Dickinson.

Visitation will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
