The Edmonton Metcalfe Industrial Development Authority (IDEA) held a special called meeting on Monday, November 27. Members Mark Linkous and Donna Caffee were not in attendance.

Chairman Wes Jolly in an email to the board members stated that he had turned in his resignation from the Industrial Board to Judge/Executive Larry Wilson as of October 26th. He also offered the following statement.

“I have enjoyed working closely with each of you over the past two and half years. I’m very proud of the work done by the board to bring the South Industrial Park project to completion and getting the IDA into a positive cash flow position.

With continued growth in my business, there are many demands on my time and I don’t feel that I can continue to dedicate the time needed to be effective in my role of chairman of the IDA. It’s time for someone else to lead the board forward and upward.

Again, it has been a pleasure serving our county in a volunteer capacity and I wish nothing but continued success for Edmonton and Metcalfe County!”

With Jolly’s departure, the first order of business was to select a new chairman. After a great deal of discussion, new board member Lisa Boswell was chosen as chairperson.

Next, the board approved the removal of the previous chairperson’s authorization signature from the bank account and the addition of the new chairman’s signature.

The members approved the minutes from the September 18th meeting and the month’s financial report for the period of September 18 – November 27, 2023, both with no alterations.

Since the meeting was rescheduled from its normal day, it was considered a special called meeting and nothing could be discussed that was not on the agenda; therefore, they could not discuss the RDAPP funds and the intended use of them to pay off loans.

The board also reviewed the 2023 KACo appraisal report of the South Industrial Park for insurance purposes.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 18th at 2 p.m. at City Hall.
