The Shoebox Mission for Metcalfe County was overseen by Mrs. Carol Perkins again this year. Volunteers spent months sewing, shopping, crafting, hosting fundraisers, and boxing up gift items to get ready for the big day.

November 16 those boxes were ready to ship out. Thanks to the help of five MCHS football players, Byron, Fenton, Tyler, Trigg, and Jake with the guidance of Mark and Denise Glass Fudge, 94 shipping cartons of shoeboxes were loaded onto a truck for delivery. The boxes will officially make their way to the next checkpoint.

For the record, the football boys moved 94 cartons full of heavy shoe boxes with ease, and in record time, thank you so much for all your help!

A Shout Out to Carol Perkins, Harold and Peggie McCoy, Anna Jolly, Laurie Butler, Freeda Reece, the local churches, and all those folks in the county who worked to send over 1,400 shoe boxes to children around the world.

Proof positive that remarkable things are accomplished when we work together!
