Coming off a year that saw Metcalfe County dominate the 16th district tournament, reach the 4th region semifinals, and finish with 20 wins, the Lady Hornets return their entire core and find themselves among preseason favorites to contend for the 4th region championship. Also, among Lady Hornet preseason accolades, junior Kassady London is ranked in the top ten players in the 4th region.

The Lady Hornets have completed two preseason scrimmages, looking incredibly impressive in both, defeating Russellville on the road in a rout and winning handily at home against Taylor County.

The girls will face a December gauntlet, beginning the season with three road games, facing 4th region defending champion Bowling Green on the road in the State Farm 4th Region Challenge, traveling to Nashville where they will see top out-of-state competition in the More Than Basketball Tournament, then finishing the month in the coveted Lady of the South Invitational.

The excitement around the Lady Hornets is at an all-time high. With their tough schedule, fans can expect to be in for a show, watching incredibly talented teams battle it out early and often. The Metcalfe faithful will want to arrive at the gym early this year, not only to set up an electric atmosphere for their Lady Hornets, but to catch the fireworks that will start with each tip off.

The Lady Hornets will begin their season Tuesday night at Warren East.
