Clarence “Sweeney” Garnet Francis

GLASGOW – Clarence “Sweeney” Garnet Francis, 84, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at Barren County Nursing and Rehab. He was born January 29, 1939, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Lonnie Garnet “Jack” Francis and Della Waller Francis. Clarence retired from RR Donnelley as a crew leader.

Survivors include his loving wife, Connie Dell Stover Francis; two step-sons, Sonny Turner (Sharon “Gertie”), Scotty Turner (Susan), both of Tompkinsville; three grandchildren, Amber Turner, Toby Turner (Netta), Makayla Turner; two step-grandchildren, Shelton Guffey, Sarah Guffey; five great-grandchildren, Charlee Turner, Suni Turner, Kole Guffey, Kynzlie Guffey, Mia Guffey; two brothers, Curtis Francis of Glasgow, Cleveland Francis of Louisville; one sister, Clarice Strode of Mt. Hermon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton Francis and infant brother, Harold Francis; three sisters-in-law, Dimple Francis, Shirley Francis, Janie Francis; and one brother-in-law, Harold Strode.

The funeral service for Mr. Francis was held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2023, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Please share your condolences with the family at www.afcrowfh.com.
