Nadean Dawes McDaniel

CAVE CITY – Nadean Dawes McDaniel, age 94 of Cave City, departed this life on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Barren County Nursing and Rehab in Glasgow, KY.  The Edmonson County native was born on May 31, 1929 to the late James Henry and Maude Lane Dawes.  She was married to her devoted husband and best friend of sixty-one years, Robert “Bob” McDaniel, who also preceded her in death.

Nadene and her husband owned and operated Miss Green River Boat Concessions at Mammoth Cave National Park for over twenty-eight years. She was a faithful member of Cave City Baptist Church, until her health began to fail.

She leaves to honor her memory— nieces, Pat Hatler and Debbie Pownall; nephews, Paul Waldrop, Shawn Waldrop, Michael Dawes and Joey Dawes; several great nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Walter “Moe” Calderone. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bert Dawes, Mildred Blanton, Sue Rogers, Elaine Becca, Bennie Paul Dawes, LaVenia “Sandy” Larkin, Elmer Dawes, Joe Dawes and Ann Calderone.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
