Marcella Boston Love

EDMONTON – Marcella Boston Love, age 88, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Shanti Miketon Hospice House in Glasgow, Kentucky. She was born May 27, 1935, in the Sulphur Well Community of Metcalfe County, the daughter of Odie and Bertha Gaddie Boston.

Mrs. Love was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. She graduated from Norton’s Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1957. She also graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Health Services. She spent her nursing career in many capacities including office, surgical, and bedside nursing. She also taught health careers for several years. Mrs. Love was a member of the Metcalfe County Homemakers, Metcalfe County Garden Club, and Retired Teachers. She loved to do handwork and made several beautiful quilts of which she was very proud.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adrie Lee Love, who she married November 29, 1957, and a son, Mark Alan Love. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ruby Dell Estes and Runell Parke.

Mrs. Love is survived by 3 daughters, Lisa Love Matthews of Glasgow, Diane Love Scott (Gary) of Glasgow, and Martha Love Moore of Lexington; and daughter-in-law, Anita Love of Edmonton. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Alexandria Pennington, Cole Scott (McKinnley), Luke Love (Hannah), Sawyer Matthews (Jordyn Turner), Abigail Matthews, and Jake Love; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ripp Scott and Guss Scott; brother, Lloyd Boston (Frances); along with several nieces and nephews. She also had 2 special caregivers, Suzie Wells and Brenda Pennington.

The funeral service for Mrs. Marcella Boston Love will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Metcalfe County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, after 5:00 p.m. and again on Thursday after 8:00 a.m. until the service hour.
