Kenneth Edwin Sexton

EDMONTON – Kenneth Edwin Sexton, 88, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Signature Healthcare Center in Taylorsville, KY.  Born on September 29, 1935, in the Prices Creek Community of Metcalfe County, he was the son of the late Oscar and Lillie Morgan Sexton and the husband of the late Marjorie Muller Sexton.

He was a self-employed home builder for over 37 years and attended Commercial Trade Institute majoring in Construction Building. He was a longtime member of the Mid-Kentucky Antique Car Club, an Army Veteran of the Korean War, member of the VFW Post of Metcalfe County, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children, Delisa Sexton of Los Angeles, CA, Anita McCracken (Eric) of Louisville, KY, and Duane “Buddy” Sexton of Mt. Washington, KY; nine grandchildren, John Dudley, Nathan McCracken, Rachel McCracken, Lydia McIntrye (Adam), Claudia McCracken, Erica McCracken, Isabella Sexton, Jordan Sexton, and Gerald Dudley; one great-grandchild, Addison Coyle; one brother, Benny Sexton of Columbia, KY;  two sisters-in-law, Ocie Sexton and Jean Sexton both of Edmonton, KY; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Granville, Dewey, Challman, Hollan, and Ollis Sexton; and three sisters, Inis Shirley, Clara Bragg, and Zelma Roach.

Funeral service will be held Monday, November 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM CDT at the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial the Bragg Cemetery in Adair County. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 2:00-8:00 pm CDT and on Monday, from 8:00 am-12:00 pm CDT at the Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY.
