Ruth Katherine Huffman

GLASGOW – Ruth Katherine (Beard) Huffman, age 95, passed away at her residence on Monday, October 9, 2023. Born on Saturday, March 24, 1928, the daughter of Weeden and Dora Malinda (Lambirth) Beard. She was a Christian woman, a long-time member of the Antioch Baptist Church at Knob Lick, Kentucky, an employee of Mallory Capacitor from which she retired with 24 years of service, was an excellent seamstress, and she loved to play Domino’s right up until just days before she passed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Wilson Huffman “JR”; daughter, Teresa Grace (Harold) Huffman Mizell; grandchildren, Bethany Grace Mizell, Brian Jason Mizell; siblings, Robert Beard, Herbert (Katherine) Beard, Mary Edna (Frank) Porter, and Evelyn (Stanley) Ratay.

She is survived by her son, Terry Michael “Mike” (Paula) Huffman; grandchildren, Amy Malinda (Corey) Huffman Thomas, Christi Michelle (Greg) Huffman Reece; great-grandchildren, Riley Sloane Thomas, Abbey Kate Thomas, Connor Wilson Thomas; sister-in-law, Eva Beard; brother-in-law, Merle Huffman; along with other family members, and many friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Huffman will be conducted on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Butler Funeral Home with Bro. James Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens in Edmonton, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2023, after 9:00 a.m. until the time for the service at the funeral home.
