William Devore, age 87, of Hardyville, passed away
William Devore, age 87, of Hardyville, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Signature Healthcare of Hart County. He ran a barber shop and dry goods store in Hardyville for many years. He then went into sales working for Electrolux where he won several national awards and eventually retired. He loved the community he lived in as well as Kentucky Basketball! William was saved during a revival at Hardyville Union Church in the early years of his life. He loved to hear gospel music.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Devore; one son, Timothy Devore; his parents, Amon Hildred and Mary Agnes Devore; two brothers, Clarence and Howard Devore.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis Devore (Felicia) and Chris Devore; one daughter, Valecia Floyd (Mike); one step-son, Neil Bennett; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jo Reece; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2023 with burial to follow in the Pearl Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Winn Funeral Home from 2-8 PM on Wednesday, October 11 and from 8 AM until time of service on Thursday.
