Joseph M. Spalding, Sr.
CAVE CITY – Joseph M. Spalding Sr., age 81, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at The Hospice House In Bowling Green, Ky. He attended Cave City Christian Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and National Guard. He retired from G.E. after 30 + years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Leo Spalding III and Mary Christine Spalding; two brothers, Joseph Edward Spalding and Michael Keith Spalding; and one sister, Mary Frances Mattingly.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Spalding, whom he married on April 20, 1983; four sons, Joseph Spalding Jr., Jason Spalding, Joshua Spalding, and Billy Spalding; two daughters, Karen Miller and Penny Holloman; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Whickerville Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by DAV Chapter 20 out of Glasgow. Visitation will be held from 1-7 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2023, and from 8 AM until the time of service on Monday.
