Richard Kenny Hamlett

EDMONTON – Richard Kenny Hamlett, 63, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Columbia, KY on August 25, 1960, to the late Rev. William “Bill” and Armedia Sneed Hamlett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Joyce Young.

Mr. Hamlett was a member of the Edmonton Methodist Church and employed at Sumitomo. He enjoyed hunting, all sports, being outdoors, and University of Kentucky basketball, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, Teresa White Hamlett; three children, Morgan DeWeese (Alan) of Edmonton, KY, Justin Hamlett (Brittany) of Edmonton, KY, and Kyle Hamlett Decker (Stephanie) of Glasgow, KY; eleven grandchildren, Allie, Kyndal, Finlee, Aiden, Millie, Jessa, MaKaylee, Riley, Rylee, Liam, and Ellison; a great-granddaughter, Payslee; a brother, Randall Hamlett (Becky) of Glasgow, KY; his mother-in-law, Louise White of Edmonton, KY; a brother-in-law, Jerry Young of Edmonton, KY; a special friend, Jerry Dale Gassaway of Edmonton, KY; four special nieces, Shannon Hamlett, Kristie Young, JP Young, and Missy Anderson; and several great nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Edmonton Methodist Church with burial in the Frazier-White Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home at 35 Old Glasgow Rd. Edmonton, KY, and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. at Edmonton Methodist Church.
