Ellis Durwood Centers

GLASGOW – Ellis Durwood Centers, age 65, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Glasgow on August 25, 1958, to the late Jeffrey William Centers and the late Nelda Birdie Centers (Hogue). He was a heavy equipment mechanic for over 20 years. Durwood was of the Baptist faith.

Durwood is survived by his wife, Janice Faye Centers; son, Ellis Daniel Centers; granddaughter, Gabriella Centers; cousins, Roger Centers (Mina), Mike Shives (Jonita), Scott Shives, Amanda Moore (Dylan); uncle, Kermit Centers (Janice). Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to his parents, Durwood was preceded in death by his brother, William Delton Centers; uncle and aunt, Chesley and Wilma Shives.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
