Clarence Chapman

KNOB  LICK – Clarence Chapman, age 96, of Metcalfe County passed away on Sunday, October 01, 2023, after a short illness. He was born on Friday, February 18, 1927, the son of Charlie and Nick (Cassidy) Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a member of the Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Knob Lick, Kentucky, was a member of the Masonic Order in Center, Lodge # 320 F. & A.M. for some 66 years, started working at the rock quarry at a very young age, worked in construction, owned his own garage, ”Chapmans Garage”, farmer, and was an avid card player.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (Gentry) Chapman; and siblings, Wayne Chapman, Sylvia Chapman, and Viva Chapman.

He is survived by his two sons, Kenneth Chapman, and Marty (Ann) Chapman of Knob Lick, Kentucky; grandchildren, Lynn Chapman, Martina Chapman, Micky Compton, Stevie Compton, Jamie Compton, Morgan Priddy, Nathaniel Bryant; great-grandchildren, Sheldon Compton, Aubrey Compton, Brianna England, Shelby Compton, KayLynn Thomas, Aspen Chapman; brother-in-law, Howard Gentry; along with other family members, many friends, and his Masonic Brothers.

The funeral service for Mr. Clarence Chapman will be conducted on Thursday, October 05, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Butler Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fancher officiating. The burial will be in the Bowles Cemetery in Knob Lick. There will be a Masonic Service on Wednesday, October 04, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. performed by Lodge #’s 320 & 931 F. & A.M. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 05, 2023, after 5:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 04, 2023, after 6:00 a.m. till the time for the service at the funeral home. Butler Funeral Home of Edmonton is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Chapman.
