Caverna High School welcomed Hart County to Weaver Field last Friday night, but the visitors were not too kind. The 3A Raiders crushed the Colonels 46-6. The highlight of the game for the Colonels was when Tyson Martin raced 65 yards on a fumble recovery to pull Caverna within 14-6.

After that play that got the Caverna faithful on their feet, it was all Raiders offensively for the remainder of the game.

The Raiders won the toss and elected to receive. They scored using a powerful running game. After the Hart County kickoff, the Colonels started out on their first drive moving the football with Jayline Craine at quarterback rolling out and picking up positive yardage, but a dropped pass stalled that drive.

The Raiders went up 14-0 before Martin’s touchdown put the Colonels on the scoreboard for the first and only time.

The Colonels fall to 2-4, but have everyone back healthy as they prepare to travel to Fulton County this Friday night and begin the all-important 3-game Class 1A District 1 play.

The Colonels will stay on the road on Oct 13, when they travel to Russellville. Then, Oct 20, they return to Weaver Field and will host Ballard Memorial in their final district game.
