Murrell Johnson

ROCKY HILL – Murrell Johnson, age 77, departed this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at TriStar Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN. The Barren County native was born on October 6, 1945, to the late Jimmy Lawrence and Grace Hope Johnson. He was married to Judy Carol Johnson, until they were parted by her death on July 5, 2015.

Murrell was self-employed, and owned and operated Murrell Johnson Construction for many years. He was an avid horseback rider, and was a member of Cedar Springs Community Church.

He leaves to honor his memory— three children, Dewayne Johnson (Alicia) of Naples, FL, Cherie Howard (Roy) of Glasgow, and Nicholas Johnson (Megan) of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Dylan Howard (Amelia), Ariana Whitt (Tanner), Dymie Carroll (Hunter), Ashton Johnson, and Aiden Johnson; great-grandchild,, Ty Carroll and his twin sister, Murlene McCoy.

Murrell was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Williams, Andrew Johnson, Charles Johnson, Ailene Beck, Marie Gregory, Frances “Bunny” Kemble, and Maurice Johnson.

VISITATION: 3-7 PM, Saturday, September 16, 2023, and 10AM-1:30, Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2 PM, Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Cedar Springs Community Church
