Leroy Smith
TOMPKINSVILLE – Leroy Smith, 79, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, while in the company of family, at T J Samson Hospital, Glasgow, KY.
Leroy was born in Metcalfe County, KY on February 20, 1944, a son of the late Evelyn (Syra) and Howard Smith. Leroy was a farmer, in his early years a truck driver in Louisville, Member of the Monroe County Fiscal Court 3 terms, worked for the Monroe County Road Dept. and was Baptized at Cyclone church of Christ.
Leroy is survived by grand-daughter, Erica, wife of Terry Eldridge; grand-son, Caleb, husband of Chelsea Smith; and daughter-in-law, Wendy Smith, all of Tompkinsville, KY; step son,Wesley, husband of Danielle Bray, of Tompkinsville, KY; 5 great-grandchildren, Braxton and Nolan Eldridge, Liam and Kyle Smith, and Madeline Bray. Leroy is also survived by a sister, Lola Curry, of Edmonton, KY; a brother, Louis Underwood, husband of Betty Smith, of Edmonton, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
His Parents, Howard and Evelyn Smith; son, Jeff Smith; brothers, Jim and Charlie Smith; and nephews, David Harris and Michael Smith preceded him in death.
Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Bryan Humphrey will officiate.
Visitation will be held 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday, September 11th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, 8 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, September 12th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, and 8 AM to 12 PM on Wednesday, September 13th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial Skaggs Creek Cemetery, Tompkinsville, KY. Donations requested to Skaggs Creek Cemetery.
