David Murrell Dilley
GLASGOW – David Murrell Dilley, 72, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at his residence. He is the son of the late Henry Leon and Mildred Smith Dilley. David retired from the United States Army, having served in Vietnam and Desert Storm. David loved his country and his family dearly. He was proud to have served his country.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Dellis Dilley; one son, Jamey Dilley: one daughter, Trina Dilley; two step-sons, Kenneth and Jerrod Vanover; eight grandchildren, Kolby Lee, Connor, and Chase Bernhardt, Macey, Kaiden, and Gracey Dilley, Lisa and Jackson Vanover; three brothers, Freddie Dilley (Phyllis), Danny Dilley (Carole), and Johnny Dilley (Barbara); one brother-in-law, Jim Dellis (Darla); one sister-in-law, Sarah Haglund (Marty); several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Cross Dilley; and one brother, Jerry Dilley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter 20. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
