Joshua Myers Jessie

SULPHUR WELL – Joshua Myers Jessie, age 33, of Metcalfe County, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Jessie was born on Monday, October 16, 1989, the son of Quinn and Kathy (Boston) Jessie. Mr. Jessie attended Sulphur Well Methodist Church in his younger days, and Pink Ridge Baptist Church in his adult life, was a farmer, sub-contractor for several delivery companies, was an avid hunter and fisherman, but above all was a loving and proud father.

Mr. Jessie is preceded in death by his father, Quinn Jessie; paternal grandfather, Edwin Jessie Jr.; maternal grandparents, Buck Boston and Mildred Boston; niece, Asia Destiny Brooke Caffee; uncle, Edwin Ray Jessie; and a special friend, Jesse Basil.

Mr. Jessie is survived by his mother, Kathy (Boston) Jessie; children, William Jessie and Peyton Jessie; siblings, Thomas Caffee, Melissa Gearlds, Shanti Jessie (Chris Brown); paternal grandmother, Cora Emma Jessie; special nieces and nephews, Timothy Caffee, Jared Love, Justin Caffee (Samantha), Madison (Bryce) Gearlds, Destiny (Lance) Gearlds, Kaden (Addy) Scott, Nola Tate Caffee, Willow Harris, Winterly Harris, and Hannah Gearlds; aunts, Becky Jessie  and Anita Bass; special great-nephews, Layne Scott and Tamen Caffee; special cousin, Nick (Lizzie) Jessie; along with several other family members and many friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Joshua Myers Jessie will be conducted on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Butler Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Smith Cemetery in Metcalfe County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2023, after 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again on Tuesday after 8:00 a.m. until time for the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to help offset final expenses and may be left at the funeral home. Butler funeral Home of Edmonton, Kentucky is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Jessie.
