Billy Hugh Honeycutt
PARK CITY – Billy Hugh Honeycutt, age 85, departed this life on Wednesday, September 7, 2023, in Brownsville. The Albany, KY native was born on September 28, 1937, to the late Oscar and Dorothy Neal Honeycutt.
Billy was an avid farmer. He started working for Straders Dairy in Hiseville and milked for numerous dairy farms. He also worked for the Edmonson County Road Department, Barren County School Systems, and served eighteen years in the Kentucky Army National Guard in the 1st Battalion 623rd Field Artillery (Morgan’s Men). He was a member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church.
He leaves to honor his memory— sons, Billy Joe Honeycutt (Tammie) of Cedar Springs, Robert Lee Honeycutt of Hiseville, Johnny Hugh Honeycutt of Hiseville, and Cody Honeycutt (Ashley) of Cedar Springs; daughters, Jane Ann Gassaway (Wallace) of Edmonton, Mary Ruth Jessie of Hiseville, and Beth Skaggs (Keith) of Park City; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Wayne Honeycutt of Hiseville; sisters, Mary Johnson of Glasgow, Jane Weaver (Louis) of Greenville, and Doris Lawrence (James) of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Eugene Honeycutt; sisters, Rose Pemberton, Carolyn Hale, and Sue Riddle; daughter-in-law, Sherry Honeycutt; and son-in-law, Clint Cook.
Interment will be in Lambert Cemetery with graveside military honors by Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW. Memorial contributions can be made to: Edmonson Center Activities Fund, 813 S Main Street, Brownsville, KY 42210.
