Metcalfe Golf returned home Monday to Summer Shade for a match with Allen County. Teeing off against the Patriots with home course advantage, the Hornets looked to reestablish their victorious ways. Being led by Ben Shirley, a young Hornet golf team showed incredible potential early in the season.

Unfortunately, the Hornets could not find their stride Monday at Kentucky Hills. Ben would turn in a team best 41, Kruz Tucker would be one stroke behind with a 42, and Noah Emmitt and Collin Shive would turn in the final two qualifying scores with a 44 and 45. Metcalfe’s 172 team score would fall nearly 20 strokes short of Allen’s 153.

As the weeks remaining in the season continue to narrow, the boys will look to put shots together and return to the record setting pace they established at the beginning of this fall golf season.
