Sylvia Boston Sandefur
GLASGOW – Sylvia Boston Sandefur, age 77, departed this life on Monday, August 21, 2023, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was born on July 31, 1946, to the late Payne and Ora Stephens Boston. She was married to Sam Sandefur, who also preceded her in death.
Sylvia was a member of Park City Baptist Church and a member of Barren County Homemakers. She was a former manager at Helig-Meyers, a farmer, and attended Temple Hill School.
She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Burl Scott, Jr. (Valerie), Chris Scott (Jeanine), Scotty Scott (Suzie) all of Glasgow, Chris Sandefur of Bowling Green, Samuel Wright (Mallory) of Jeffersonville, IN, and Veronica Stevens of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Jason Scott, Jake Scott, Zack Scott, Anna Marie Vincent, Jesse Scott, Christina Scott, Crystal Scott, Aimee Scott, and Abbie Scott; siblings, Shelvy Boston (Becky), Eugene Boston (Glenda), Kay Turner (Hughie), Kyle Boston (Kathy), Eddie Boston (Christy), and Timmy Boston, who was also her caregiver; six great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Logan Scott.
Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
