Metcalfe County High School is proud to welcome Deena Hurt as the new head coach of the Lady Hornet Softball Team.

Hurt served as an assistant coach for the MCHS softball program for the past eight seasons. During her 25 years of experience, she also coached basketball, cross country, and golf.

“I have a passion for sports and working with athletes to help them learn how to become the best person and player they can be,” Hurt said. “I can’t wait to step into the new role as head coach and keep building a positive and successful program.”

Hurt is a teacher at Metcalfe County High School. She is married to Superintendent Josh Hurt. They have two children, Brody, a 17-year-old junior at MCHS, and HarperAnn, a 14-year-old freshman at MCHS.
