Mildred Ruth Scott
GLASGOW – Mildred Ruth Scott, 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 22, 1932, to the late George Young and Alma Young. She was of the Baptist faith and loved to make quilts.
Survivors include six children, Carol Lyle, Bonnie Wilson, Diane Martin, Shelia (Tommy) McCoy, Roger (Velvet) Scott, and Pattie (Chris) Sewell,; several grandchildren, Kelley Dalton, Heather Seiner, Tonya Smith, Stephanie Logsdon, Daniel Wilson, Angela Baker, Brandy Thurman, Lindsay Roberts, John Scott, Brandon Kelly, Bradley Swafford, Jason Swafford, Austin England, Drake McCoy, Colton Thurman, Alexis Evans, Ricky Neal, Christy Decker, and Allen Sewell; twenty-five grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bobby Young. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Scott; two grandchildren, Gregory Roach, Patricia Scott; son-in-law, Ronnie Wilson; and her sisters, Verla, Marie, Rita, and Merlene.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until time of service.
