Jerry Barthel Stockton

GLASGOW – Jerry Barthel Stockton passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023, in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born on October 20, 1946, in Waterview, Kentucky.

Jerry was a devoted father, and caring husband, who served both God and country as he was a passionate preacher and spent over 20 years in the military. He enjoyed spending his time relaxing by cooking, grilling, traveling, and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Thelma Jean Stockton; three children, Craig Thomas Stockton, Jerri Da Sha Stockton, and Leticia Gayle Stockton (Edward Javon McNebb); four grandchildren, Brittany, Chyrreia, Jadyn, and Emma; as well as two great-grandchildren, Briella and Koloari.

In his later years, Jerry was unable to keep up with one of his additional loves, mowing the yard, where this responsibility was taken over by his niece, La Kreisa, and her husband, Jesse. Jerry is also survived by his sisters, Elaine Frances and Mary Lillian Rhodes; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Benton Barthel Stockton, and his mother, Alsena Ellis Stockton.

A celebration of life and viewing will be held at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 5-8 pm, CDT.
