According to a recent news report out of Owensboro, a funeral home director who operates multiple funeral homes including Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton has been terminated, fined, and a suspension placed on his director’s license.
Nathan Morris, formerly of Morris Family Services, was fined $24,000 and a six-month suspension of his Funeral Director and Embalmers license beginning on Aug. 9 through Feb. 9, 2024, by the Kentucky Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors (KBEFD), according to the news report.
Morris of Owensboro is a former employee of Morris Family Services (MFS) and served as part owner of the funeral home company. Kayla Wheelen, Executive Assistant with MFS corporate office, confirmed with a Jobe Publishing reporter on Monday that Morris is no longer employed with MFS.
Jobe Publishing has filed an Open Records Request with the KBEFD, but as of press time, those have not been returned. Updates will be provided once those have been received.
