The Metcalfe County High School golf team competed in two events this past week, the second week of their season. After an impressive start to the season, finishing 3rd out of 17 teams at the Barren County Invitational, Metcalfe took to the tees at Hidden Hills in Monroe County Monday. Just seven days after Collin Shive set his personal best of 74, Noah Emmitt would shoot a personal best 76 in Tompkinsville. In their first home match of the year, three days later, Kruz Tucker would put up his nine-hole personal best 38 as the Hornets defeated Cumberland County. The Hornets put up impressive numbers across the board on their home turf in Summer Shade, behind Kruz’s 38 was Noah with a 39, Collin with a 41, and Hudson Jessie and Chance Garrett with 51s.
Metcalfe will have a full slate this week, competing Monday at home against Green County, Tuesday at The Pines in Adair County, Thursday at Rowlett’s in Hart County, and then at Shady Hollow Saturday for the Raider Invitational.
