Robert Garner Simpson, Jr.
GLASGOW – Robert Garner Simpson, Jr. age 79, passed away on July 12, 2023, at U K Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was the son of the late Robert Garner Simpson Sr. and Ida Bell Cyphers Simpson. He was born on February 15, 1944, in Columbia, Kentucky, and later moved to Glasgow, Kentucky.
He retired from USDA-FSA in 2006 as Chief Program Specialist.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Spurling Simpson; three children, Lynn (Jimmy) Harlow, Scott Simpson, and Ann (Scott) Proffitt; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; one sister, Sharon Denham (Harold); one brother, Tony Simpson (Lynn).
Graveside services will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home starting at noon on Sunday until 3:45 pm.
