Charles Quinton Madison

CHALYBEATE – Charles Quinton Madison, age 82, peacefully departed this life on Monday, July 10, 2023, at his home. The Edmonson County native was born on August 5, 1940, to the late Elmer and Hazel Johnson Madison. He was married to his wife of over sixty years, Linda Mae Booker Madison, until they were parted by her death on May 20, 2023.

Quinton worked alongside Dr. Marcus Wilkes as an x-ray and lab technician for Wilkes Clinic for many years. He and his wife also owned and operated Edmonson County Florist in Brownsville. In recent years, he worked with Dr. Pravin Avula—Graves Gilbert Clinic, at the Smiths Grove office, until his health began to fail and he retired. He took pride in his work, and offered exceptional care to all the patients. Quinton was a member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church.

He leaves to honor his memory— his two daughters, Tanya Lynn Madison Ashley of Chalybeate and Charla Ann Madison of Brownsville; four grandchildren, Lucas Ashley (Ashleigh), Ethan Ashley (Brittany), Brianna Ashley, and Chesney Madison; five great-grandchildren, Dalton, Ellie, Kayleigh, Maisie, and Marlee; along with several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Besides his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Frank and Kaydonald Madison, and Mildred Herald.

Interment will be in Kinser Cemetery.
