Helen Joye Martin

CAVE CITY – Helen Joye Martin, age 92, departed this life on June 24, 2023. Helen was born on April 27, 1931, in Lawson Bottom, Cumberland County, KY, to the late William G. Morgan and the late Crystal M. Hawes.

For most of her life, Helen was a dedicated member of the Park City Methodist Church. She enjoyed being on the go and staying busy. In her younger years, she was employed by Neville’s Restaurant, Lerman’s, Riherd’s Sport Shop, Watson’s Department Store, and Park Mammoth Resort. She also enjoyed being out in nature. She was always dressed fashionably and enjoyed wearing bright, cheerful colors.

She leaves to honor her memory, her children, Roger Martin (Machell), Danny Martin (Martha), Patricia Cook, and Ronnie Martin; a sister Patsy Toms; nine beloved grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Malcolm Martin; a brother, Denny; sisters, Shirley, Faye, and Renee’; and an infant great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
