The City of Munfordville has upped its summer game.

June 3 marked the first Summer Nights Concert Series event in downtown Munfordville and proved to be a fun event for all.

Handcrafting vendors, food trucks, inflatables, and more overtook the Courthouse lawn beginning at 3 p.m. Everyone was welcome to enjoy a variety of foods to choose from, as well as shop from local small businesses. Hart County Party Rentals was also on site, providing entertainment for children of all ages.

At 6 p.m., the concert began to a crowd of several individuals who were in attendance. In addition to Zocephus & Funk Nasty rocking the stage, Hart County’s own Mason Gentry also sang a few music favorites.

“When I got the call a few months ago about playing in my hometown for the first ever big concert, I was honored,” Gentry said. “Most people probably only knew me from playing sports growing up, but that’s mainly because I didn’t start playing music til almost two years ago. I never expected for my music career to take off as quick as it did. I still am in shock most days. I’ve gotten to open up for some guys in Nashville and play alongside a few. I’ve have met so many people in such a short time. I just want to thank Hart County for allowing me to be a part of the first big concert and hope to be in more in the near future.”

Coni Shepperd, Executive Director of Munfordville Tourism, deemed the first event in the concert series to be a huge success.

“We had a big crowd,” Shepperd said. “The vendors said they did well. We are excited about the one in July.”

The concerts are free, and everyone is welcome to attend. Additional items can be purchased from among the food trucks, vendors, and children’s activities that will also be available each time.

The Summer Nights Concert Series dates will continue as follows:

  • July 1 – The Crashers
  • August 5 – Whiskey Row with Miles Apart
  • September 2 – Resurrection: A Journey Tribute

The concert series will take place at 200 Main Street along the Courthouse in Munfordville. The vendors, food trucks, and inflatables open at 3 p.m. Each concert begins at 6 p.m.
