Lucy Jewell Lindsey

GLASGOW – Lucy Jewell Witcher Groce Lindsey, age 82, passed away May 17, 2023, at the Vanderbilt Trauma Center in Nashville, TN due to an automobile accident. She was known to many as Moma Jewell or Granny Jewell. She loved her family and taught us all to love, support, and care for each other. We all are better people for knowing such a God-fearing woman.

After 26 years at Mallory’s, she worked at Johnson Controls for years. As she transitioned into retirement, she got to enjoy her many hobbies. So many memories were made in the kitchen with her. She was such an amazing cook and she loved to feed everybody and helped when she was needed. She had a God given talent for sewing and quilting. Over the years she became well known for the hundreds of hours she put into quilting; creating beautiful quilts that was a blessing to many. She also went on several missionary trips to Honduras to help spread the word of God and show these people love. She had a life well lived and will always be remembered as a woman of God. She was of the Baptist faith and a member at Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a faithful soldier of God.

Jewell loved her family, but she loved God more. She always was quick to tell you about his love and how he will never leave you. As she entered the pearly white gates, she was probably singing Glad reunion day. With that strong voice and a smile from ear to ear. She loved her kids and not only birth children, all people. She loved to travel and make sweet memories with her family and friends. Camping, laying on the beach or one place near and dear to her heart the Smokey Mountains. She loved her daughters, sons, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids and because of them her beautiful legacy will live on. Heaven surely gained a beautiful angel.
