Hazel “Ruth” Kidwell
MAMMOTH CAVE – Hazel “Ruth” Kidwell, age 77, departed this life on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Genesis Edmonson Center in Brownsville. The Edmonson County native was born on January 5, 1946, to the late Estel and Hannah Decker Sanders. She was married to her best friend of fifty-five years, Bennie Kidwell, who survives.
Ruth was a devoted member of Hill Grove Missionary Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She cherished her family and worked with her hands as a homemaker to provide for their needs.
Besides her husband, Bennie, she leaves to honor her memory— her daughters, Donna Bagshaw (Gary) of Mammoth Cave and Amy Bullock (Jeff) of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Jarad Bagshaw (Rachel), Brody Bagshaw, Kelcie Phelps (Logan), Emma Childress (Dalton), and Reagan Bullock; and three great-grandchildren, Brooks Bagshaw, Lenna Bagshaw, and Silas Bagshaw.
Interment will be in Hill Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hill Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Gary Bagshaw, 1323 Dickeys Mill Road, Mammoth Cave, KY 42259.
