Margaret Ann Stode
EDMONTON -Margaret Ann Strode, age 83, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at her home. She was born February 24, 1940, in Pennington Cap, VA she was the daughter of the late Eura Lee Ferguson and Beulah Lena Dehong-Ferguson and the wife of James Strode Sr. of 53 years.
She was a member of the Assembly Church of God. She loved gardening, making crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianna (Randell) Glass of Edmonton, and Gail (Wendell) Barrett of Georgia; two sons, Jimmy (Carla) Strode, and Scotty (Donna) Strode both of Summer Shade; two sisters, Patsy Hart and Brenda Smith of Decatur, IL; one brother, Jimmy (Vicki) of St. Louis. MO; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren with another one on the way.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband, were her two brothers, Jerry Ferguson, and JoJo Ferguson; sister, Carol Strode; grandchild, Cody Strode; and brothers-in-law, Charlie Strode and Allen Smith.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Graceland Fairlawn in Decatur, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
