Body of Missing Man Found

The search for a missing Hart County man has ended.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on April 19, the Hart County Rescue Squad discovered the body of a white male in the Green River near Thomas Bend Road. It was suspected to be 32-year-old James Jewell of Canmer who had been reported missing since April 11.

The body was transported by the Hart County Coroner to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.

On April 20, the body was identified as James Jewell and an autopsy was performed. The family has been notified, and the autopsy results are still pending as of press time.

According to a previous police report by the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, on April 11, James Jewell was at a family member’s residence on Boyds Knob Road in the Canmer area of Hart County. Jewell left this residence walking and was wearing only a pair of dark-colored shorts and no shirt. It was reported that Jewell was picked up by a friend and taken to the power substation on Glen Lily East Road, which branches off of North Jackson Hwy. (31-E), along the Green River.

Jewell was entered as a Missing Person on April 14 when a family member of Jewell contacted the Hart County Sheriff’s Office stating that he was possibly missing.

Jewell’s body was located approximately five miles downstream from his last known location.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hart County Rescue Squad, Kentucky State Police, and the Hart County Coroner.

    I know some jewells, it’s really say that his family lost a son,brother cousin, nephew to probley none since to the family you sure have my prayers, may God be with you threw this time of need!

    If there are bruises on his body or lungs not completely full of water, then he did not drown, he was murdered. A coroner once told me that. Bruises can only be visible and put on the body before death, not after. If drowned, then the lungs would be full of water cause they would have to breathe water in.

    We go all out for your family it’s very sad hope you hold your head up and let God walk you through this sad time just be strong and if you have other children stay strong for them we will pray for you all
