The Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Logan Ryan Phelps as the recipient of the 2023 Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce Memorial Scholarship. Logan Phelps will be included in the Senior Celebrity Group as the Scholarship recipient. The Senior Celebrity Banquet honors outstanding MCHS Seniors, their parents, and their favorite educator.
Logan is the 18-year-old son of Chris and Sherry Phelps of Edmonton. Logan’s school activities include Beta, FCA, Gifted and Talented, basketball, golf, and cross country.
Logan participates in the Work Ready Program where he tutors students at Metcalfe County Elementary School and he ranks in the top ten of his Senior Class. Logan’s long-term goal is to pursue a degree in Education and return to his hometown of Metcalfe County to teach.
Logan Phelps was chosen to receive the $1,000 Scholarship from a field of thirteen outstanding applications by a Scholarship Committee. Each Metcalfe County Senior was mailed an application for the scholarship. The Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce has awarded a scholarship since 1997 to outstanding Metcalfe County High School Seniors.

The Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce Memorial Scholarship is made possible each year because of the donations made in memory of loved ones, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Plaques are displayed prominently in the Chamber of Commerce office with engraved plates that memorialize the name of each individual a contribution has been made in memory of since 1998.
The first memorial was made in memory of Mr. Mark Scott, a well-known and beloved teacher from North Metcalfe Elementary by Mrs. Jeannie Spears. Currently, there are eight plaques with a total of three hundred and three names. What better way to honor someone than with a donation that will be used to help a Metcalfe County student further their education.
