Jaynette Fancher Taylor Owens

HORSE CAVE – Jaynette Fancher Taylor Owens, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, March 22, 2023, at Glenview Nursing and Rehab. She was born as a twin on February 13, 1941, to the late James Edward Damon Fancher and Birdie Mae Smith Fancher. She farmed right beside her husband of 41 years, the late Henry Clyde Taylor, and later became his caregiver in 1995 until his death in 1996. For the next five years, she became a full-time caregiver for a host of people and then became the wife of Charles (Buck) Owens for the next 16 years until his death in 2016. She is a member of Coral Hill Baptist Church.

She raised a family in the hardest of times and also helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters. She was not only a mother to her own, but also a mother and grandmother to many, taking in anyone that needed a place to stay or needed help. She also worked for several years at the Pants Factory in Horse Cave. She was one of the hardest-working women you would ever meet. She loved her family, growing flowers, playing cards, cooking, gardening, fishing, and had such a heart for her animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two sisters, Louise Poynter and buddy, Janet Stovall (twin), and Leamon; five brothers, Maxie Fancher and Shirley, Vernon Fancher and Pernie, Billy Fancher and Mauline, Chester Fancher, and Charles Ray Fancher and Devona; mother and father-in-law, Wesley and Maggie Taylor; and brother-and sisters-in-law, Leslie and Jeanie Taylor, Earnest and Nell Taylor, Lewis and Earline Taylor, Raymond Taylor, Alta Reed Taylor, Harry McKinney, and Daulton Stephens.

She is survived by two sons, Marris Taylor (Anna), Three Springs, 1 SG James Lindel Taylor, Seymour; two daughters, Joyce Deckard (Tony) and Mary Harvey (Kenny), of Glasgow; ten grandchildren, Marris Taylor, Jason Taylor, April (Brian) Hagan, Kim (Randy) Leek, Kelly Taylor, Josh (Brandy) Taylor, Simon (Delaney) Taylor, Christy Tice, Nikki (Richie) Jolly, and Luke (Danielle) Deckard; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carlos (Beverly) Fancher, and Damon Fancher; three sisters, Susan (Arnold) Cross, Jenny McKinney, and Rosie (Larry) Davenport; brother-in-law, William Taylor, and sisters-in-law, Nellie Taylor and Judy Fancher Clark.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Winn Funeral Home with burial following in the Houk Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.winnfuneralhome.com.
