Rep. Neighbors to speak
The 4th annual Reagan Day Dinner is just around the corner and now is the time to purchase tickets or sponsor a table.
The dinner, which is slated for March 18, will include a meal catered by local grill master John Logsdon.
The annual event, hosted by the Metcalfe County Young Republicans alongside Metcalfe County Republican Party, will begin at 5 p.m. at the Metcalfe Old School Gym venue.
MCYR and County Party President Daniel Bragg extend an invitation to Metcalfe County and encourages anyone interested to attend.
“If this will be your first time attending our event, I assure you it’s a great time filled with great food and even better people. If you have attended in the past, we look forward to seeing you again,” Bragg said.
Proceeds from the dinner will fund the $1,000 scholarship award by the Metcalfe County Young Republicans, which is awarded annually to a local high school senior. The winner of the 2023 scholarship will be announced at the dinner.
This year, State Representative Amy Neighbors will be the keynote speaker. Previous speakers at the dinner included US Rep. James Comer, State Auditor Mike Harmon, Secretary of State Michael Adams, State Senators Max Wise and David Givens, State Rep. Bart Rowland, Jonathan Shell, and Metcalfe’s own Fred Harbison.
Bragg said the dinner provides locals the opportunity to ensure Metcalfe is not forgotten at the state level.
“This really has become a great opportunity for Metcalfe Countians to meet their elected officials and leaders from across the state helping to create a culture that has a Metcalfe County top of mind in Frankfort.”
Individuals can RSVP by texting 270-590-0307 or e-mailing metcalfeyoungrepublican@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Neighbors told the Edmonton Herald News she looks forward to the Reagan Day Dinner and hopes to see it continue to grow.
“I am honored to be the keynote speaker and want to thank the MCYR for putting on this event,” Neighbors said, “I would love to see this dinner grow and for people in our county to gather together and become active with the Republican Party.”
“I look forward to seeing everyone there and I’m certain this will be a great evening!”
