The Metcalfe County Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, February 6, 2023.
Superintendent Josh Hurt announced Monday was the beginning of FRYSC week in Kentucky. He thanked staff members Patty Bunch, Judy Thompson, Lori Eskridge, and Amy London for their work serving the needs of Metcalfe County students and families. In addition, Mr. Hurt thanked the district’s school counselors in recognition of National School Counseling Week.
On the agenda, the board approved the 2023-2024 District Calendar. The first day for students is Monday, August 28, 2023, with the last day of school scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2024. Fall Break is October 2-6, and Spring Break is April 1-5. Christmas Break will begin on December 18. The complete calendar has been posted on the district website at www.metcalfeschools.com.
The board presented recognitions for the month to Lily Clouse, a sophomore at Metcalfe County High School. David Devore, paraeducator at MCHS, and Joseph Eaton, MCHS assistant principal.
Board recognitions are sponsored by RBS Design Group, Glass & Thompson Insurance, and American Fidelity.
The next board meeting is Monday, March 13, 2023, at 6:00 pm.
