Layla Fay Ladd, 14, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away

Layla Fay Ladd, 14, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born August 30, 2008 in Glasgow, Kentucky to Gregory D. Ladd and Amanda C. Quigley Ladd. Layla attended Glasgow High School where she was in the Art Club. She loved drawing, playing video games, and makeup. Layla also loved animals, especially her parrot, Echo and her dog, Ginger; they were two of her closest friends. She will be loved always and missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters, Pearl Dewhirst, Peyton Ladd (Ethan), Taylor Ladd (Kevin); one niece, Ascela; paternal grandmother, Linda “Mommo” Bernier (Randall); four uncles, John Raymond, Gary, Steve Ladd, Mark Quigley (Kim); one aunt, Melissa Quigley; two great uncles, Danny England, John Waller; three great aunts, Jackie Robinson, Wanda Emmitt, Andrea Boggs (Shannon); six cousins, Taylor and Mylaka Quigley, Kelcie Pedigo, Aubrey, Reese, and Alex Ladd; and several friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Carol Neel and James Quigley; paternal grandfather, Gregory D. Ladd; maternal great grandmother, Hazel Kosfield; paternal great grandparents, John and Nora England; and three great uncles, Kenneth, Daryl, and Rex England. In the end, Layla was able to give seven gifts, saving the lives of four people. She truly was an angel here on Earth.

The funeral service for Layla will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 2nd at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. A. F.
