Larry Duane McElwain, 85, of Glasgow passed away

Larry Duane McElwain, 85, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born July 15, 1937 in Jamestown, New York to the late George and Mildred Milks McElwain. Larry graduated from Randolph, New York High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for four years. He retired from SKF, Inc. in Falconer, New York after 22 years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Donna Sheesley McElwain; two sons, Mark McElwain (Monnakae) of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Stephen McElwain (Jennifer) of Kokomo, Indiana; three daughters, Michele Hosier, Betsy Barr (Robert), Emily Groce, all of Glasgow, Kentucky; two stepchildren, Scott Sheesley, Lacie Burks (Barry), both of Glasgow, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Milburn McElwain (Ruth), Kenneth McElwain (Beverly); one sister, Maxine Wright (Howard); and one grandson, Lawrence Linkous.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and Mr. McElwain will be interred in Randolph Cemetery in Jamestown, New York.

    My dad graduated from Randolph Central School in 1955. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Duane Maynard and a granddaughter, Maxine Maynard. And Randolph cemetery is in Randolph, NY
