It was just an idea with a simple beginning that grew into an amazing plan for the Chamber of Commerce and its Sponsors. The project took on a new life when young artist, Elyda Hicks submitted the drafts for the book. The work was so detailed and amazing that we knew we had to pursue the Coloring Book Project and share it with others.
After months of planning and securing the funding, coloring books were delivered. Elyda Hicks and Chamber Executive Director, Kim Harwood dropped off books to the Metcalfe County Public Library for Story Hour children, Metcalfe Health Care Center and Harper’s Home for the Aged residents, and the Bowling Park Homeless Shelter.
The books will also go into each Welcome Basket the Chamber prepares with the donations of local businesses for new residents of Metcalfe County.
Thank you to everyone who showed interest and helped this project come to life, especially the sponsors who were so excited to be a part of the project. Last but certainly not least, thank you to the artist, Miss. Elyda Hicks, who at age 13 has designed a CD Cover and a coloring book. Oh my, think of the places she will go!
